Clear terms for a quiet utility.

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Zap ("Zap," "we," "us," or "our"). By downloading, installing, purchasing, accessing, or using Zap, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge our Privacy Policy and Cancellation & No-Refund Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Zap.

If you use Zap for a company or other organization, you represent that you have authority to bind it, and "you" includes that organization.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, legally capable of forming a binding contract, and permitted to use the service under applicable law. You may not use Zap if you are barred from receiving services under United States law or other applicable law.

You must create an account with an email address you control and a password of at least 8 characters before checkout. Verify your email, then use the same email and password on the website and in Zap. An active paid subscription connects to that account. You must keep your account credentials confidential and notify us if you suspect unauthorized account use. You are responsible for activity under your account except to the extent caused by our failure to use reasonable care.

3. What Zap does

Zap is a macOS and Windows app with Zap AI and Drip Type. Zap AI helps with text and screenshots you submit. Drip Type enters your finished text into desktop applications with adjustable timing. Templates, Pro Studio, Profiles, and the Clipboard workspace are no longer offered in the current app. Current plan details appear at tryzap.net/#pricing.

Compatibility depends on the operating system, hardware, destination-app behavior, secure-field restrictions, and any platform permissions. On macOS, Accessibility and Automation permissions are required. Zap is not a communications provider, academic institution, professional adviser, or a guarantee that a third-party application will accept automated input or that any particular result will be achieved.

4. No free trial

Zap does not offer a free trial. Paid features require a successfully paid, active subscription. Any preview or website demonstration is informational and does not create app access, a trial entitlement, a money-back guarantee, or a right to a refund.

5. Paid subscriptions and renewal

Zap Pro offers three monthly plans: Plus at $25 USD with 250 credits, 5× at $100 USD with 1,250 credits, and 20× at $200 USD with 5,000 credits. All three include all Zap features. Plus includes Sonnet and Haiku; 5× and 20× also include Opus. The multipliers describe credit allowances, not speed or response quality. The price, currency, billing interval, included features, taxes, total due, no-trial policy, and cancellation terms are displayed before you confirm Stripe Checkout. By completing checkout, you authorize Stripe and Zap to charge the selected payment method at purchase and automatically at each monthly renewal until you cancel.

Your verified Zap account connects to your Stripe customer and current Zap subscription. Before creating a new Checkout Session, our systems check for an existing current subscription or unfinished Checkout Session. When one is found, a new checkout is blocked and you are directed to manage the existing subscription or resume checkout. This safeguard reduces accidental duplicate purchases but does not replace your responsibility to review the order and payment method before confirming payment. If you believe you have duplicate subscriptions or charges, contact support so we can investigate before you purchase again.

We may change future prices or plan contents by giving notice required by law. A price change will not take effect for you before the date disclosed in that notice. If you do not accept a change, you may cancel before it takes effect. Stripe records completed checkout and subscription transactions and provides receipts and billing management. Your statutory notice, consent, and cancellation rights are unaffected.

6. Payment processing

Stripe processes payment credentials, checkout, invoices, and subscription management. You agree to provide accurate billing information and authorize Stripe to use it to process charges. We do not receive or store your full payment-card number. Payment failures may suspend paid access until resolved.

7. Cancellation, plan changes, and refunds

You may cancel online through Stripe's Customer Portal, opened from your verified purchase page or the Billing page in Zap. Cancellation stops future renewals and ordinarily takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period. Deleting the app or your local app data does not cancel a subscription. Plan changes made in Zap take effect at the next renewal after you confirm the selected monthly price. The current credit allowance remains in effect until that renewal.

There is no money-back guarantee. Payments are final and non-refundable, including renewal charges and unused portions of a billing period, except where a refund or other remedy is required by applicable law. Cancellation alone does not create a right to a prorated refund. See our Cancellation & No-Refund Policy.

8. License

Subject to these Terms and an active paid entitlement, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to install and use Zap on supported Mac or Windows devices for your lawful internal purposes. Keep your account credentials confidential and use your subscription only for your own authorized installations. The software is licensed, not sold.

You may not copy or distribute the software except for a reasonable backup; rent, lease, resell, sublicense, or provide it as a service bureau; bypass subscriptions, device limits, signatures, or other access controls; reverse engineer or modify it except where applicable law expressly permits and cannot be waived; remove proprietary notices; or use the service to develop or train a competing product through unauthorized extraction.

9. Your content and local data

You retain ownership of text and other content you provide. You grant us only the limited rights reasonably necessary to process billing, activation, support, and service requests you initiate. Drip Type composition and typing run on your device. When you request hosted AI, you authorize Zap and its inference provider to process the text, instructions, context, and screenshots you submit to generate a response, as described in the Privacy Policy. This permission does not transfer ownership of your content.

You are responsible for keeping local data and appropriate backups, reviewing generated or transformed text before use, confirming the active destination field, and ensuring that you have the right to use and enter content in each destination. We are not responsible for content entered into an unintended field after you start a typing run.

AI limitations and availability

AI responses can be inaccurate, incomplete, biased, or similar to another user’s response. Review facts, calculations, citations, code, and translations before use. Research mode does not browse the live web. Zap does not guarantee originality, copyright protection, freedom from third-party rights, or a particular academic or professional result. Do not rely on it as medical, legal, financial, emergency, or other safety-critical advice.

Credits power hosted AI requests. Longer requests and more powerful models use more credits; smaller requests use fewer. Monthly credits renew each paid billing month, and unused monthly credits do not roll over. Monthly credits are used before purchased credits. Optional one-time packs add 200 credits for $10 USD, 500 for $25 USD, or 1,000 for $50 USD after verified payment. Purchased credits carry over without expiring and stay in the same account; an active subscription is required to buy and use them. Packs do not change your subscription or model access, start another subscription, or authorize automatic refills. Review the total in Stripe before paying. Track your monthly, purchased, and total balance inside Zap or on the billing page. There is no fixed message allowance, credit cash value, or automatic overage charge. We reserve credits before sending a request, then reconcile verified usage. An uncertain provider outcome may retain its reservation. Requests stop when the available balance cannot cover the request. Rate, concurrency, provider availability, and shared service limits also apply. Non-waivable consumer remedies remain available for service failures or misleading descriptions.

Only submit content you have the rights and permissions to process. Do not submit secrets, payment-card data, health records, regulated sensitive data, or other people’s confidential information to hosted AI. Review and crop screenshots before sending them. 10. Acceptable use

You must not use Zap to violate law, academic-integrity rules, contractual obligations, or third-party rights; impersonate or deceive people; distribute malware; harass, threaten, exploit, or defraud; send unlawful spam or evade platform safeguards; interfere with the service; probe or bypass security; automate access to secure or prohibited fields; defeat plagiarism, proctoring, access-control, anti-bot, or examination safeguards; or help another person do any of these things. You are responsible for the messages you send and the destinations in which you use the utility.

11. Platform access and safety controls

On macOS, Zap requires Accessibility and Automation permissions to enter keystrokes into another application; macOS controls those permissions, and you can revoke them in System Settings. On Windows, Zap uses the native Windows input service. Use the emergency stop shortcut whenever typing is directed to the wrong field. You assume the ordinary risks of automated keyboard input and are responsible for confirming the active destination before starting a typing session.

12. Updates and changes to the service

Zap may check for and install verified updates. macOS releases are signed and notarized; Windows release integrity is checked against update metadata. Updates may add, change, or remove features, address security or compatibility, or be required for continued access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the service. Where required, we will provide notice of a material adverse change to paid functionality and preserve any non-waivable rights.

13. Third-party services

Zap interoperates with macOS, Windows, and destination applications and uses Anthropic for hosted inference and Stripe, Vercel, and GitHub for billing, hosting, encrypted account storage, licensing, and release delivery. Third-party products are governed by their own terms and may change or restrict automated input. Apple, Microsoft, Stripe, Vercel, GitHub, and destination-app providers do not sponsor or warrant Zap unless they expressly say otherwise.

14. Ownership and feedback

Zap, the Zap mark, source and object code, interface, website, documentation, and related intellectual property are owned by Zap or its licensors and are protected by law. Except for the license in Section 8, no rights are granted. If you voluntarily provide product feedback, you grant us a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free right to use it without identifying you or owing compensation.

Copyright complaints

If you believe material provided through Zap infringes your copyright, use the support form with the summary “Copyright complaint.” Identify the work, the specific material and its location, your authority to act, and how we can contact you. Do not upload unrelated personal information. We review reports and may remove or restrict material or accounts where appropriate, including repeated infringement. This reporting channel does not represent that Zap has a registered DMCA agent or qualifies for a statutory safe harbor.

15. Support

Support is available through the private website support form. We aim to respond reasonably but do not promise a particular response time, uninterrupted support, or a fix for every third-party compatibility issue unless required by law.

16. Suspension and termination

You may stop using Zap at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for nonpayment, fraud, material breach, security risk, unlawful use, or conduct that threatens the service or others. Where reasonable, we will give notice and an opportunity to cure. Upon termination, the license ends; provisions that by their nature should survive—including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and general terms—remain effective.

17. Disclaimers

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ZAP AND RELATED SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." WE DISCLAIM IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE AGAINST EVERY THREAT, COMPATIBLE WITH EVERY APP, OR SUITABLE FOR HIGH-RISK OR SAFETY-CRITICAL USE. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE GRADES, ACADEMIC OR EMPLOYMENT OUTCOMES, DEADLINES, DELIVERABILITY, THIRD-PARTY PLATFORM ACCESS, OR THE ACCURACY OR ACCEPTANCE OF ANY TEXT. NOTHING IN THESE TERMS EXCLUDES A WARRANTY OR CONSUMER RIGHT THAT CANNOT LAWFULLY BE EXCLUDED.

18. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, Zap AND ITS MEMBERS, MANAGERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, LICENSORS, AND PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, MISDIRECTED TEXT, MISSED DEADLINES, ACCOUNT OR PLATFORM ACTIONS, OR ACADEMIC, EMPLOYMENT, OR OTHER THIRD-PARTY CONSEQUENCES, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO ZAP, EVEN IF ADVISED THAT SUCH DAMAGES WERE POSSIBLE.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF US$50 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR ZAP IN THE SIX MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM. YOUR PRIMARY REMEDY FOR DISSATISFACTION IS TO STOP USING ZAP AND CANCEL FUTURE RENEWALS. CANCELLATION DOES NOT CREATE A REFUND RIGHT. THESE LIMITS APPLY REGARDLESS OF THE THEORY OF LIABILITY BUT DO NOT APPLY TO LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE LIMITED BY LAW, INCLUDING NON-WAIVABLE CONSUMER REMEDIES AND LIABILITY FOR FRAUD OR WILLFUL MISCONDUCT WHERE EXCLUSION IS PROHIBITED.

19. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, if you use Zap on behalf of a business, that business will defend and indemnify Zap against third-party claims and reasonable costs arising from its unlawful content, misuse of the service, or material breach of these Terms. This section does not apply to an individual consumer where prohibited by law.

20. Governing law and disputes

California law governs these Terms without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that is not eligible for small-claims court will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, and each party consents to their jurisdiction. This section does not deprive consumers of mandatory protections or courts available under the law of their residence. These Terms do not require arbitration or waive participation in a class action.

21. General terms

These Terms, the Privacy Policy, the Cancellation & No-Refund Policy, and checkout disclosures are the entire agreement concerning Zap and replace prior terms on that subject. If a provision is unenforceable, it will be modified to the minimum extent necessary and the rest will remain effective. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, reorganization, financing, or sale of the relevant business. We are not responsible for delay caused by events beyond reasonable control. Headings are for convenience only.

22. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We will post the revised version and effective date and give additional notice when required. Material changes apply prospectively. Continuing to use Zap after an effective change constitutes acceptance only to the extent permitted by law.
